Raju Hirani fifth directorial venture Sanju is the second big scale movie of 2018 after Padmaavat who lived up to the expectation. The movie opened well, received well by the audience and now sustaining well at the box office both domestically and globally. After the biggest weekend in the history of Bollywood, Sanju passed its first test on Monday. The movie dropped 25% as compared to the first Friday which is really good despite a non-holiday Monday. Sanju collected a huge 26 crores on its first Monday.
The movie maintained its business on Tuesday and collected around 22 crores which is very good despite a working day. The movie dropped little more in metro cities as it was a normal working day, So morning Shows saw a little drop. A 200 crores plus first week is on cards. It will be the first movie of 2018 who will cross 200 crores in its first week. Padmaavat missed this mark in its first week due to limited release. Sanju now stands at a huge total of 166 crores after five days. The movie sustainability on Monday and Tuesday makes it sure that movie is heading for a long run. It will surely enter in 300 crores club and even will go ahead of director’s last release PK. But how far it will go above PK, the image will be clear by the end of the second week. Trade experts are expecting it to be the biggest hit of all time beating Dangal 375 crores at Indian Box office.
There are high chances that Sanju could be the first Hindi movie to create 400 crores club for Hindi films in India which Dangal missed a year before.
