Batti Gul Meter Chalu took an ordinary start at the ticket window. The movie starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in the lead role. So it was expected to take a decent start of at least double-digit on its first day. But the movie failed big time as the occupancy of the movie was 15-20% in the morning shows despite being a holiday at some places. The movie had shown a little growth in the afternoon shows which was not enough. The evening shows were better than the afternoon shows.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu collected 6.5 crores on its first day at the Indian Box office which is not a good number if we look at the star cast and the director of the movie whose last movie was Toilet Ek Prem Katha which was a big hit. The movie had to collect at least 10 crores then only it could be a good start. Now the movie has to show good growth over Saturday and Sunday then only decent numbers could be on cards at the end of the first weekend.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is based on a real-life electricity issue which common man face in real life. But the movie unable to connect with the audience and the length of the movie is the main issue for the film. The movie could be edited for another half an hour and it could be a good film of 2 hours. But the unnecessary scenes has been roped in resulted in disengagement of the story in the first and the second half.
The movie is directed by Shri Narayan Singh and produced by T-Series. The movie starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in the lead role. Batti Gul Meter Chalu released worldwide on 21st September.
